Andrew has been a professional accountant (CPA, CMA) since 1992, and worked in the corporate world in financial management for over two decades. He has experience at two of the big banks and other large and small organizations, including municipal government and not-for-profit, where his areas of expertise included financial planning and analysis, budgeting/forecasting and accounting. Currently semi-retired, he has been a Financial Planner/Advisor for over 15 years, working with a small number of investment and tax clients.
Andrew is currently the Vice-Chair, Finance & Administration of the OTA, overseeing the accounting, treasury and budgeting functions. Notable accomplishments during his tenure included: managing all finances and building a reserve for capital projects, running operations including merging with another club, liaising with NYTA/Toronto Parks & Rec/OTA, and basically anything necessary to ensure the survival of a community tennis club.
Andrew has also volunteered with the Intercounty Tennis Association, one of the largest organizations dedicated to league tennis in North America. He has served on their Executive board (Secretary and Grievance committee), and has been a division chair in the popular Mixed League for the last nine years. He was the proud captain of an ICTA league team for over 20 years, and is still an active league player at the Unionville TC.
Another interest of Andrew’s is music, having been a certified piano teacher (Associateship from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto) and he has been a part-time teacher since the 1980’s.
